Dally Boy!!!!!!!!

On the week of Tanner's birthday, we had noticed that Dally just seemed to be getting worse...........

He is 15 years old, and in the past few months we had noticed a tumor on his face. After much contemplation; we decided to take him in to the vet. We were worried that they would tell us to put him down right then; only he was still happy. He still had "gitty-up" in his step. The doctor was extremely kind and understanding. He said that he probably has cancer, but only a biopsy would tell for sure. He gave the options of testing, chemo, etc. For a 15 year old friend; it seemed silly to think of all of the options. So, the vet gave us some medications to try to bring the tumor down, to relieve any pain, and to prevent infections. After a few months, things only seemed worse. We took him in on the day of Tanner's Friend party. Kenny was very emotional and teary-eyed as he asked the vet the ever-important questions:
1. How long does he have? 2. If this were your dog, what would you do?

The vet said that by the following week; we will want to put him down. He will not want to eat. He also said that if it were him, he would do it now rather than later. The kiddos wanted to see Dally before he would be put down. So, Kenny brought him home. He had the best "last meal"; cupcakes, pizza, and even cinnamon rolls the next morning. We loved on him, prayed for him, and talked to him before it was time to go. He was very melancholy. Then Mallory looked over the ledge with tears in her eyes, but holding a cinnamon roll. THAT PERKED HIM RIGHT UP!!! He could only concentrate on the cinnamon roll. Kenny took him to the vet. They were so kind and reassuring. It was very hard for Kenny. We all know that this was the best decision, but we sure miss him. Just yesterday, we were at Pet's Mart. Tanner said, "can we get a Frisbee for Ogle?". I said, "no he doesn't really play Frisbee". Tanner came back with, "but Dally does". We were both stunned!

Now, our first babies (both Majerle and Dally) have gone on ahead of us all. We will anxiously await our time with them again.
